CALGARY, AB, March 27 - The Ahmadiyya Muslim
Community Calgary is holding first World
Religions Conference in the city of Medicine
Hat to discuss 'Peace at Home'.
Religious scholars from
Buddhism, First
Nations, Judaism, Christianity and Islam
will
present their perspectives on the topic. At
the end of the presentations, participants
will get an opportunity to ask questions
about the topic.
Mayor
of the city of
Medicine Hat, Mr. Garth Vallely will
chair this event. Minister of Environment,
Honorable Rob Renner and Police
chief, city of Medicine Hat, Mr. Norm
Boucher will also honor this event with
their presence.
Reverend Gene Packwood,
Parish Priest, St. Barnabas of Medicine Hat
will represent Christianity. Mr. Russell
Stagg, associated with Chaplin at
University of Calgary will present Jewish
perspective.
Mr.
Yasuo
Izumi,
Minister of Buddhist Federation of Alberta,
will present Buddhist perspective. Ms.
Deborah Lloyd, Metis and Inuit Teacher
in Medicine Hat, will talk about
First Nations' perspective whereas
Mr. Naseem Mahdi,
National President of Ahmadiyya Muslim
Community, Canada will present Islamic
perspective.
Conference is open to public and there is no
cost.
